The hardware that Ovation requires to run properly can be split into two major components: a computer and a head mounted display (HMD), also known as a VR headset.
Note: Ovation does not support mobile (Cardboard) or standalone (Oculus Go/Quest, Vive Focus) VR headsets.
Most virtual reality software pushes up against the limits of computer processing power. Ovation is no exception with its demanding Recording, Analytics, and Audience systems. As such, you will need a powerful computer to run Ovation properly. Whether you decide to purchase a desktop or laptop computer, or already own one you intend to use, it should have the following minimum specifications:
Operating System: Windows 10
CPU: Intel i5 (7th Gen.) / AMD Ryzen 5 or greater
Graphics Card: NVIDIA GTX 1060 / AMD Radeon RX 590 or greater*
Memory: 16GB+ RAM
Hard Drive Available Space: 5GB
USB Ports: 2x USB 3.0, 1x USB 2.0
*Some laptop graphic cards can be significantly less powerful than their desktop equivalents. The graphics cards noted above refer to their desktop variants.
If you are unsure about your computer's ability to run Ovation properly, please email us at email@example.com.
Ovation is designed for — and has only been tested with — the Oculus Rift, HTC Vive, and Windows Mixed Reality headsets. We make no guarantees that it will run on any alternative virtual reality hardware. Ovation is not available for standalone or mobile VR, such as the Samsung Gear, Oculus Go, or Google Cardboard.
