Play Space Setup

Last updated 23 days ago

It is vital that you setup your play space before launching Ovation. A play space is defined as the space in the real world inside which a user can freely move around while using virtual reality.

For VR platforms with external sensors, the play space setup process helps you position your sensors to ensure maximum tracking reliability and calibrates your height.

During play space setup, a user can choose to setup "virtual walls" that appear when approaching real-world boundaries. It is highly recommended that new users enable this feature.

Setup is not required for each new user; once the setup process is complete, you only need to update it again if your sensors (Oculus) or base stations (Vive) are moved. Windows Mixed Reality headsets do not have external sensors and thus do not need this form of calibration.
